I keep brief notes from client or supervisee sessions. These are kept securely and safely. I am required to keep these notes for 7 years. After this time all notes will be destroyed. If I hold telephone numbers or an email address for you I will delete these from any devices once our counselling sessions have finished. What you talk about in a counselling or supervision session is confidential. That means I will not discuss it with anyone else. There are some exceptions to this. If you say something that leads me to believe you or another person is at risk of immediate harm. If you disclose terrorist activity, drug trafficking or money laundering I am required under the Prevent Act to disclose to appropriate authorities.
You have the right under current data protection and GDPR to have access to any information held about you. You can request copies of this information from me in writing and I will respond within 28 days. I hold a data controller membership with the ICO. My ICO registration number is ZA5358615.
